HTML Editors for Windows
I’ve been using Macs almost exclusively for about a decade, so I’m totally out of touch when it comes to Windows software. I asked on Twitter for some recommendations and here are the results:
- TopStyle, which despite the domain is at version 5, looks like it has really interesting preview features, plus integrates some useful scripts such as Prefixr.
- PHPEdit look a lot more like what I would expect a windows editor to look like, but I’m sure it’s great if you’re looking for an IDE rather than just a text editor.
- Sublime Text is very well-thought-of amongst some developers that use Macs — I hadn’t realized it was also available for Windows.
- Brackets is Adobe’s open source editor. I haven’t tried it yet myself, but I’ve been meaning to.
Personally, I still miss Homesite for Windows — I don’t think I’ve ever been quite as efficient as I was way back when. (Thanks to @ckhicks, @geoffhasson, @nicbertino, @iboxifoo, and @gradinDotCom for their suggestions. No thanks to @lchamberlin for his suggestion of Word.)
